Maybe my writing is a bit different from other friends, I just try to write from another perspective, from my point of view whereas a "non-fans" of Laskar Pelangi Tetralogy - novel.
I remember, it was my first grade of Senior High School when first novel of Laskar Pelangi released. The novel became booming directly and always talked by my friends at school. But honestly, I was included to people who know about the novel lately. I didn’t know why I feel "less interested". After the fourth novel published, I was really curious what makes it so admired by many people. Then I borrowed the first book, began reading it, and ... the first chapter was really making me bored to not continue reading it (until now).
Then when the movie came out, I was more curious, until I finally watched the movie and it is really GREAT! Unlike the novel (which I read just one chapter and I'm bored). The film is so honest, touching, and sufficient. Not less but also not excessive in conveying the messages from the story maker.
So in conclusion, maybe I’m not like my great friends who have khatam all the four series and memorize all the story details and the dialogue between characters. But this is the point what makes Laskar Pelangi inspire me a lot. That every thing has a portion and the course by itself. Each gets success by its own way. As Laskar Pelangi that has successfully won the hearts of millions people with millions words in the novel, but easily win my heart by 120-minute duration of the movie. Life is so colorful, isn’t it?
p.s: I think a 222-words-essay is enough for all the things about the Laskar Pelangi that has inspired me.
p.s.s: Can’t stand to see the teatrical-musical-show, I bet it will be more colorful then :)
